Dilwale Ends Up Being An Average Flick !

Stunning Movie Reviews
Dilwale Review

Director: Rohit Shetty

Written By : Yunus Sajawal

Cinematography : Dudley

Music: Amar Mohile

Songs : Pritam Chakraborty

Starring: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon

Our Rating  : 2.75/5

The most awaited ,most hyped movie of 2015 , from the SRk-Kajol-Rohit Shetty combo ends up being an average flick . From Rohit Shetty, films like Chennai Express had come and people were expecting something fresh and new for the SRK-Kajol Chemistry. This time too , the plot is the same and predictable.
Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) is a mechanic settled in Goa . He has his brother Veer( Varun Dhawan) with him . Veer falls in love with Ishitha( Kriti Sanon) . Ishitha happens to be the sister of Meera (Kajol) . We come to know that Raj and Meera had some unfinished business 15 years back. Raj ,earler a don had fallen in love with Meera. They both belonged to mafia families having conflicts. They both meet in Bulgaria and eventually fall in love. Things do take a turn and the couple drifted apart. Raj gave up his mafia business and after 15 years he runs a garage in Goa and Meera owns a shack there. Will both the love stories end up on a good note ? This forms the rest of the plot.
Dilwale is made for complete entertainment and only entertainment. It is enjoyable to an extent but is overloaded with cliches. Predictability spoil the show. The film is half entertaining. The chemistry between SRK and Kajol wasn't enough to save this film without a good plot.
There are some breathtaking shots and action sequences in the film which are thoroughly entertaining. The dangerous car sequences were well shot.

Performance

Shah Rukh Khan and his looks are the star attractions of the film. He is good looking, energetic and charming in both the avatars. Raj's character was pulled off easily by SRK and he performed exceptionally well. Especially in the action sequences.  Kajol was good in her role after a long five year break. Her different looks and performance were attractive even though we felt some scenes being too artificial.  Varun Dhawan is OK as usual. His acting and comic timing was good. He did exceptionally well in Badlapur.  Kriti Sanon doesn't have much to do in the film. Still she did her part neatly. Sanjay Mishra's acting was brilliant. Rest of the cast were good in their roles.

 Music

Janam Janam and Gerua do stand out among the songs.

Script and Direction

The script is the major drawback of the film and has many flaws and loopholes. It heavily leans on the mega stardom of the King Khan.  Rohit Shetty is not successful in capturing romance between the epic SRK-Kajol combo. Rohit Shetty had earlier worked with cliches , but in films like Chennai Express and Singham returns, he added something to worth it watch twice.  Direction is good though. The weak plot and the cliche overloaded screenplay limits the director to create an interesting drama.

Verdict : An Average Passable Film . Watch it if you are a huge fan of SRK.  Good For One Time Watch.

Rating : 2.75/5

7th Day Malayalam Movie Review

Director:- Syamdhar

Cinematography:-Sujith Vaassudev

Screenplay:-Akhil Paul

Music:-Deepak Dev

Editing:-John Kutty

Our Rating:-3/5

Starring:-Prithviraj,Vinay Fort

Verdict:- A Good Suspense Thriller

7th Day from debutant Syamdhar is a feel good suspense thriller which has Prithviraj in the main role.

David Abraham IPS(Prithviraj) is a crime branch officer who is under suspension. He has been suspended for a reason which will be revealed in later stage of the movie. Even though under suspension, he investigates an unregistered case by himself. On the night of Christmas, David and two youngsters Shaan(Vinay Fort) and Vinu(Anu Mohan) go for a chance encounter which changes their life. The the other three in their gang  being Jessy(Janani Iyer) ,Cyril(Praveen Prem) and Eby(Tovino Thomas). These guys tries to escape from a money laundering racket. The investigation would be completed in a span of seven days starting from the day of Christmas to the day of new year.  Revealing much about the story would reduce your interest in watching this one. Will David succeed in solving the case ? What will happen on the 7th Day forms the rest of the plot.

The first half of the film drags a bit when the premise of the thriller is set. The second half of the film is brilliant  and the climax was a good one. The lack of pace and need of logic arise  in the first half. So, 7th Day is an average and good watchable thriller from Prithviraj if you avoid comparison with his other police characters.

Performance

Prithviraj is the back bone of the film. He played his role well in his middle aged look, intense expressions and dialogue delivery.  Vinay Fort and Anu Mohan were equally good. Others did justice to their roles.

Music

Music by Deepak Dev, though not outstanding,it  is not a let down. BGM was fine.

Technical Aspects

Sujith Vaassudev's camera work was brilliant. His dark shaded frames were excellent.

Direction And Screenplay

Debutant writer Akhil Paul tries to give a serious tone to the narrative by slowing the pace. But he is not much successful in doing that. The script has many loop holes in it. Debutant director Syamdhar has done his part well. He tried much to make this one a dark mood thriller.

Verdict:-7th Day is Just A Good Suspense Thriller...

Rating:-3/5

Geethanjali Malayalam Movie Review 2013

Stunning Movie Reviews

Geethanjali Malayalam Movie Review. Geethanjali marks the return of Dr. Sunny in Manichithrathazhu after 2 decades. Audience has great expectation when the film belongs to veteran director Priyadarshan.Their expectations was not completely fulfilled by this film. As the director already said, Geethanjali is not a sequel to Manichithrathazhu. Geethanjali doesn’t make any comparison except the character of Dr. Sunny.

The story starts from Mumbai when Anoop (Nishan) & his good be Anjali (Keerthi Suresh) to Anjali’s traditional house Arakkal when he mother falls sick. She returns & meets her parents. But after she enters the house, something haunts her badly & she behaves abnormally.Series of unpredictable incidents take place in her life afterwards. Nishan with the help of Suresh Gopi(Cameo Role) invites Dr. Sunny (Mohanlal) to  look after the issue. He comes and examines the girl. He finds that the girl Anjali is the one who is haunted & not the huge mansion. He then finds the reason behind all this with good elements of humor, suspense & horror.

Geethanjali actually is a story of two twin sisters. Dr. Sunny doesn’t have much to do in Geethanjali more than being a psychiatrist. The horror works out in the first half & fails to impress in the second half. Geethanjali can be watched for once surely without a comparison with Manichithrathazhu.  This movies shows resemblance with a Kannada movie which itself was a copied one. Geethanjali is not as much as Manichithrathazhu but as an independent film, it can be watched for sure.

Performance

On the performance part Mohanlal tried well to impress the audience as Dr. Sunny but the limitations in the script makes him unable to be the old Dr. Sunny in  Manichithrathazhu though he is the same old funny Dr. Sunny. Debutant Keerthi Suresh wasn’t bad but her performance in the second half made the audience a bit unhappy but the climax made most of them happy again. Nishan was not bad. Innocent was good in his scenes. All others perfectly fit into their roles.

Music & BGM

There are only 2 or 3 songs in Geethanjali & Vidyasagar was fine in making the songs. The background score suited the mood of the film well & it entertained the audience.

Direction & Screenplay

Abhilash Nair’s screen play had lot of loopholes which could make the audience unhappy but Priyadarshan’s direction made the film a good one. The horror sequences were well shot & the audience was satisfied. But the writer & the director could have taken a bit more care in making Geethanjali a fascinating thriller.

Technical Aspects

Cinematography was excellently done by S. Tirru & the scenes were well shot. The camera work stands out.

Verdict:  All together Geethanjali is not the perfect horror-suspense thriller of all times but it can be watched once without any bore. Don’t go with much expectation. Watch it as a single film without comparing with Manichithrathazhu. You’ll definitely enjoy it.

Krrish 3 Hindi Movie Review,Krrish 3 gains control over box office

Direction & Screenplay : Rakesh Roshan

Producer: Rakesh Roshan

Starring: Hririk Roshan,Vivek Oberoi...

Cinematography: S.Tirru

Editing : Chandra Arora

Our Rating : 3   Above Average

Krrish 3 Hindi Movie Review from SMR.
Of course 'Krrish 3 ' is a superhero film. The story revolves around the super hero of India Krrish who save people from different problematic situations.Dr. Rohit Mehra (Hritik Roshan) is a scientist who conducts experiment to give life to dead things meanwhile his son Krishna a.k.a Krrish (again Hririk Roshan) protects the people.Suddenly a virus gets generated in Namibia initially which kills people instantly for which an antidote was made be Kaal Industries. This virus reaches Mumbai & kills lot of people. The virus was generated by Kaal (Vivek Oberoi)  the person behind Kaal industries to generate profit to cure himself. Kaal posses magical powers like Krrish but he is in a wheel chair due to unknown reasons. He creates a number of nonhuman creatures as his army.Dr. Rohit finds an antidote for the virus which Kaal believed that it could only be made by him. Kaal turns against Krrish & Dr.Rohit & he plans to bring the entire world to his control using his powers. How Krrish fights against him & how he saves the people forms the rest of the plot.

Krrish 3 is amazing in the sense that it is interesting. But it has lots of flaws. Any person who like super hero films especially children will definitely enjoy Krrish 3.

Performance
Hritik Roshan took much effort to influence audience both as Dr.Rohit & Krrish but his acting is limited by a not much strong script. Priyanka Chopra  was good as Priya. The villian Kaal is unreasonable but Vivek Oberoi was good as Kaal.Others did justice to their roles too.

Direction & Screenplay
The director & the writer being Rakesh Roshan could have taken much more effort to make Krrish 3 an ultimately entertaining thriller. The direction was not bad but not much up to the expectations.

Music
The music is surely a let down. The songs does not go with the mood of the film.

Technical Aspects
The cinematography and editing from S.Tirru & Chandan Arora is what makes Krrish an entertainer.

Verdict: Krrish 3 is finally a super hero film which belongs to Hririk Roshan . The small flaws in the story may disappoint you. Go with less expectations.

Rating: 3/5 Watchable Thriller
