After heart touching films like Ustad Hotel and Manjadikkuru , Anjali Menon is back with a youth multi starrer which is a generous and a good movie.Different from the genres she had attempted before , she has come up with a film which depicts the life of three cousins.

The  Plot of the film revolves around three cousins Krishnan a.k.a. Kuttan (Nivin Pauly) , Divya (Nazriya) and Arjun (Dulquer). Kuttan is a software Engineer , Divya is a graduate ,and Arjun is a software Engineer who is interested in racing. Divya is married to Shiv Das (Fahadh Fazil) a Bangalore based guy . Their marriage life is not so good.  During this time, Divya comes to know about his old love story which keeps her away from him. What happens in the life of the three cousins later and their bondings are beautifully pictured. Divya was forced to marry Das by her parents who are not in much good terms with the parents of the other three cousins.

The movie , is a joyful youth movie which won't disappoint you. Don't expect anything like Ustad Hotel and Majadikkuru as this film is of a different genre and it has also kept up it's standard. The film is a bit lengthy. There are many good emotional and funny sequences in the film.

Watch Bangalore Days just for fun, humor, some emotional sequences. It is a generous feel good movie which everyone will enjoy.

Performance

Among the actors, Nivin Pauly was good a  shy and conscious techie.  Dulquer as usual has done a good and decent job. Nazriya was excellent and delightful in her looks, expressions, and dialogues. Fahadh was good as a rough and workaholic husband. All the other casts including Parvathi,Nithya Menon, Isha Talwar has done good job in acting.

Music

Gopi Sunder's songs were good. BGM was also equally good.

Technical Aspects

Sameer Thahir's visuals were too brilliant. The frames were captured with much excellence. The editing was also crisp and good.

Direction And Screenplay

Anjali Menon who has earlier delivered many hit movies gives another good movie this time. She proves herself as a director and writer once again. The script has many loop holes and the film was a bit lengthy.

Rating:- 3.25/5

Verdict:- A Joyful Ride and a feel good generous movie..watch it..

Om Shanti Oshana - An Average Entertainer...!

Director:- Jude Anthony

Editing:- Lijo Paul

Cinematography:- Vinod Illampally

Music:-Shaan Rahman

Starring:- Nivin,Nazriya, Aju ,....

Our Rating:- 3 /5 Watchable Entertainer

Om Shanti Oshana is all about a love story which doesn't have any routine gimmicks. Debutant Jude Anthony Joseph's Om Shanti Oshana  is a love tale which revolves around a teen girl.

In many movies, we've seen the hero following the heroine to impress her. Here there is a difference. This time , it's girl who is choosing the man. Pooja Mathew ( Nazriya) is a naughty school girl. Her best friends include a flirt Neethu ( Akshaya ) & Dona. She is the daughter of Mathew Davis( Renji Panicker) & Annie.
She goes to visit her aunt Rachel often. One day on a visit to Rachel Aunt, she learns the positives of  love marriage and goes to search an eligible man for her. She at firsts looks at a good looking guy at her school & later she finds another guy named Giri (Nivin Pauly) one day. Giri take part in farming & social activities even though he is a graduate. She is impressed with Giri's nature & she decides that Giri is her man.

She expresses her love to Giri on his birthday but Giri rejects it telling  that she is a small girl.He asks her to concentrate in her studies. Disappointed Pooja returns back.  Later she concentrates in her studies & after completion of school studies she get through the entrance examination. She gets admission in Calicut Medical College. She goes to Giri's house to tell him that she's going for her studies. She hears from his mother that he had already left to Shaolin Temple in China to learn Kung-fu. She again being disappointed , goes to her college. She gets into the company of the young & enthusiastic teacher Dr. Prasad Varkey (Vineeth Sreenivasan) . On her final year of studies , she again comes across Giri. Will Giri accept her love now..? This forms the rest of the plot.

Om Shanti Oshana is entertaining & engaging. It doesn't bore you & also it makes you laugh with some one-liners. Even though the film is said from the female side , it has some usual stuff in it & it is a bit predictable.

Performance

Nazriya gave a good performance as Pooja with some decent performance & good expression. Nivin Pauly as Giri was equally good. Aju Vargheese who played Pooja's cousin was good & successful in making you laugh.Rest of the cast including Vineeth Sreenivasan , Lal Jose, Renji Panicker have done justice to their roles.

Music

Music by Shaan Rahman was interesting are placed in suitable positions. Background score of the film dwells with its mood & it's energizing too.

Technical Aspects

Cinematography by Vinod Illampally was also good even though it wasn't the best.

Direction & Screenplay

Director Jude Anthony Joseph  has tried to give out a film that is good & worth watching. Screenplay was co-written by Midhun Manuel Thomas.  The screen play was also good.

Verdict :- Om Shanti Oshana is a Watchable Average Entertainer that has some good jokes & performances.

Rating:- 3/5

1983 - This Game Surely Entertains.....!

Director:-  Abrid Shine

Cinematography: - Pradeesh M Varma

Music :-  Gopi Sundar

Editing:-  Manoj

Our Rating:-  3.5 /5 A True Entertainer

I was happy. The Film was good. I was really satisfied to watch a true entertainer.  Director Abrid Shine's debut film tells the story of the cricket lovers in India & their passion towards it. It also discusses the passion of the people of a remote village towards cricket.

The story unfolds in a beautiful village Brahmamangalam from the year 1983, where some children along with the people of the village celebrate the world cup victory of India. There is a small gang of cricket players in that village which include Rameshan(Nivin Pauly) the batsman ,Pappan(Saiju Kurup), Babukuttan( Sanju), Prahladan(Neeraj Madhav),Mantle Johny( Kalabhavan Prajod) , Saji(Dinesh)  & Chandru,Varkey & Basheer. They grow up with their passion towards cricket. Rameshan's Father Gopi wanted him to become a Mechanical Engineer but Rameshan's passion towards cricket made him not to choose engineering. His father is a mechanic & workshop owner who hates cricket. At their school days Rameshan loves Manjula( Nikki Galrani). Majula after studies hopes that Rameshan would find a good job & marry her. But Rameshan's passion was still cricket even after growing up & looking after his father's workshop. Manjula gets married to another guy while Rameshan is forced to marry Susheela ( Srindaa Ashab) by his parents. The life becomes more happy by the birth of Kannan. After a few years , Rameshan understands his son's passion towards cricket & decides to give him coaching. He takes Kannan to Vijay(Anoop Menon ) a cricket coach who helps Kannan to become an efficient player. This forms the rest of the plot.

So, 1983 is an extremely enjoyable entertainer putting aside some lags. It  pleases the heart of the audience.
It is a film suitable for all generations & takes all to the nostalgic memories of our childhood. For those who have passion for cricket, watch this movie. It will relax your mind.

Performances

Nivin Pauly performed well while he played Rameshan.  Nikki Galrani as Manjula did justice to her role & she impressed the viewers with her looks. Srindaa Ashab did her role superbly as Susheela with her innocent expression & dialect.Everyone did justice to their roles. Jacob Gregory did his part well as Sachin  & also Anoop Menon as Vijay Menon.

Music

Music By Gopi Sundar was excellent. The song 'Olanjali Kuruvu' has already become a hit. All other songs suits the mood of the film & also the BGM was excellent.

Technical Aspects

Pradeesh M Varma captured the visuals of the village beautifully. The cricket matches shown in this film are too interestingly shot.

Direction & Screenplay

The story of the movie which the director himself had written was superb. The dialogues too are good which created a lot of laughter.

Verdict: -A True Entertainer. ... A Must Watch....

Salala Mobiles is Okay For One-Time Watch

Review By Amrith M

Director:- Sharath A Haridasan

Cinematography:-Satheesh Kurup

Music:- Gopi Sundar

Starring :- Dulquer,Nazriya....

Rating:- 2.5/5 Watchable

Walking out of the theatre , I thought about the film & I couldn't find anything that interesting in Salala Mobiles. Yes , Salala Mobiles is a usual film that doesn't have anything to offer or express.

Afzal (Dulquer Salman) a lazy guy who roams about jobless after his studies. His mother Sifa (Gita) asks her brother Salaludheen to advice Afzal and he arranges fund for Afzal for starting a Mobile showroom. Azal & his friend Binoy (Jacob Gregory )begins their business. They named the shop 'Salala Mobiles'. Shahana (Nazriya) is their frequent customer & she visits their shop to get her mobile recharged. Afzal falls in love with shahana at the very first sight but he doesn't express it due to his fear.Things take a turn when Afzal meets Alagar Saamy(Santhanam) a young programmer and software developer on their trip to Coimbatore to obtain mobiles at wholesale rate. He gifts them , a mobile call tapping software. Afzal & Binoy starts using the software for fun & they begin to tap the call of their customers. The local people informs the police about the call tapping. Will the police trace them? Will Afzal be able to express his love? . All these form the rest of the plot.

Salala Mobiles is just a usual rich-poor love story which is watchable. Even though it was promoted as a romantic comedy entertainer, it doesn't offer those much. The first half is watchable but the second half is a little let down and the people may feel unsatisfied with the climax.

Performance

Dulquer was good in his role as a lazy innocent teenager. Nazriya is good at her expressions but she got sidelined in the film. She didn't have anything great to do.Jacob Gregory was good as Binoy as he was able to produce some laughter. Santhanam was good but he deserved a better Debut.Rest of the cast have done justice to their roles.

Music

Music by Gopi Sundar is good throughout the BGM portion but the songs are just average.

Technical Aspects

Cinematography By Satheesh Kurup was fine though it had nothing much to offer.

Screenplay & Direction

The script by the director himself doesn't have anything much to offer. The jaded script is one of the negatives of this movie.

Verdict:- All together Salala Mobiles Is Just an Average film..Good for One- Time Watch...

Rating : - 2.5/5
