Director:- Shibu Gangadharan

Story:-Zachariah

Music:-Shaan Rahman      BGM:-Bijibal

Editing:-Zian Sreekanth

Our Rating:- 3/5 -Feel Good Movie

Shibu Gangadharan's directorial debut 'Praise The Lord' based on Zachariah's novel of the same name is just an average feel good family entertainer which entertains most of the audience.

Mullathazhathe Joy(Mammootty) is a rich planter who lives in Kottayam. He is unaware of the world outside the small place he lives. He lives there with his wife Ancy(Reenu Mathews) and two children. He lives there looking after his properties. He is a very simple man and he loves his wife very much.  Joy's childhood friend Advocate Sunny (Mukesh) asks Joy for a help. He asks Joy to hide Samkutty(Ahmed Siddique) and Annie(Akansha Puri) eloped without the permission of their parents.Joy agrees to hide them. Samkutty is a firm believer in God while Annie is  a modern spoiled brat whom he meets at Delhi. They fell in love with each other.Annie wishes to enjoy unmarried family life. They are later threatened by Joy's father Kunjutty(Joy Mathew) and they move from there. How Joy and others struggle to hide them and help them live together forms the rest of the plot.

Altogether 'Praise The Lord' is a usual average family entertainer which can be enjoyed if approached with less expectations. The first half is very much interesting with good jokes and performances. The second also is good despite the lag during the beginning of the second half.

Watch it with less expectations. It won't disappoint you. The film may appeal to all sections of audience.

Performance

Mammootty performed very well as Joy .He is the main attraction of the film.  His expressions , dialogues and mannerisms as Joy was excellent.  Reenu Mathews as Ancy is also good. Ahmed Siddique did a neat job as Samkutty. Akansha Puri as Annie was just fine. Rest of the characters did justice to their roles and rendered enough support.

Music

Music by Shaan Rahman was good. The two songs 'Innaleyolam' and 'sharon vaniyil' were good. Background score by Bijibal was fine.

Technical Aspects

Even though not excellent, Pradeep Nair's camera work was nice. He has captured the locations of Kottayam in a beautiful manner.

Screenplay and Direction

Screenplay by TP Deverajan based on Zachariah's novel was fine. Direction by debutant Shibu Gangadharan ,was also good. The film is a good and enjoyable family entertainer.

Verdict :- An Light-Hearted and Simple Family Entertainer...Go with less expectations...

Rating :- 3/5

DHOOM 3 - A GRAND FILM OF THE YEAR..!

Director:- Vijay Krishna Acharya

Production :- Yash Raj Films

Cinematography :- Sudeep Chatterjee

Our Rating :- 3/5

So at last the most expected film of the year released. People rushing & fighting for tickets... What is new in D:3 ...What difference does it make ? This is the 3rd part of the formulaic Dhoom Series which highlights bikes, action sequence & high level theft operations. The same formula is repeated also in Dhoom 3 . But this time about ' The Great Indian Circus'.

Dhoom 3 is a cop & robber drama where Aamir Khan is the robber & Abhishek Bachan is the cop.The story starts with the history of 'The Great Indian Circus' owned by Iqbal (Jackie Shroff) which is mortgaged at western Chicago bank. On a circus night he kills himself with the feeling that he couldn't save his circus while his small son sees it.
Years later the bank is being robbed relentlessly  & after the robbery the thief leaves a joker's mask and escapes off.Mean while Sahir (Aamir Khan) son of Iqbal starts the Great Indian Circus again. Sahir's involvement in the bank robbery gets revealed by the Mumbai Police. Will Jai Dixit ( Abhishek Bachan ) be able to trap Sahir who robs to take revenge on the bank which destroyed his life. This forms the rest of the plot.
The plot of the film is not much different from that of the earlier Dhoom Series. But what grabs the attention of the viewer is its screenplay and the quality of visuals it provide. It contains elements of emotion which wasn't present in the earlier Dhoom series. It also has some well orchestrated action sequences.
It's length 173 minutes make the viewer exhausted.

Performance
Aamir Khan is the soul of the film. He is sincere to his job and tries to prove his excellence in the scenes.Katrina Kaif  is beautiful & her dance are also good but she doesn't find much place in the script. Abhishek Bachan is good as Jai Dixit as always & Uday Chopra give ample support in the comic sequences which provide relief to us.

Music

Pritam's music is  not even close to what he scored in earlier Dhoom series.

Technical Aspects
The film is shot brilliantly. The editing could have been much better.

Screenplay & Direction
This time the writer of earlier Dhoom series becomes the writer & director of the third one.  He could have made it much more better.

VERDICT:- Overall ,Dhoom 3 is majestic, Grand & a feel good average movie despite it's length.
