This Christmas, Bollywood is all set to witness the release of a class Bhansali film 'Bajirao Mastani'. Last time when Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Ranveer-Deepika pair, a beautiful film 'Ramleela' was made. That was a masterpiece and this time also all are expecting the same.

The historical romantic drama has Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone,Priyanaka Chopra, Sanjay Mishra etc in the lead roles. The story is of a Maratha warrior Bajirao I (played by Ranveer) ,his wife Kashibai (played by Priyanka) and his second wife Mastani (played by Deepika).

The cinematogaphy is done by Sudeep Chatterjee. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is the director and the producer of this film, has also composed the superb songs of this film. The songs from this film has already become a hit. 'Deewani Mastani' the first to release has shown the class of the director. 'Pinga', is a super dance song in which Deepika-Priyanka pair has stealed the show. 'Malhari' the energetic song shows the dance moves of Ranveer as well.

The trailer of this film has received a warm welcome in youtube as well as in the social media. This film is all set to release on December 18th along with the SRK starrer Dilwale. The film is going to face tough competition in the box office. We can hope that Indian audience will accept this class film by Bhansali and will be a huge success at the box office.

So mark your calendars, its on 18th, that Bajirao and Mastani are coming to mesmerise you all.

Well , the most awaited movie of 2014 released today. People waiting to see their mega star on screen with stylish looks. Gangster seems to be the usual old gangster movies which doesn't have an enough good plot.

The story of Gangster unfolds in the city of Mangalore ruled by 3 'Gangsters', Mani Menon(Kunchan), Uncle Sam(John Paul) and Akbar Ali Khan(Mammootty).  The story begins with some animation clips which describe how Akbar became a gangster. Things goes fine in Mangalore until Uncle Sam's grandson Anto (Sekhar Menon) , a sexual pervert and a drug addict reaches the city. He plans to import contaminated vaccines to Mangalore port and sell them at higher rates thereby making much profit. Akbar is against drug activities and he opposes him. Anto plans to eliminate Akbar. In an attempt Akbar's wife Sana(Nyla Usha) gets killed and Akbar gets seriously injured. A disappointed Akbar moves to Ajmer for a pilgrimage with a mind that longs to take revenge on the one who ruined him. From then , it's all about violence. Will Akbar be successful in his attempt forms the rest of the plot.

So that's all about Gangster. The main attraction of the film is the stylish looks of the 'Gangster'. The film has many flaws in it. The film was slow in it's pace. Many sequences were excellent and a few were not up to the mark. The Villain character was not strong enough. As a whole, Gangster is a usual mass movie which never lives up to the standard and hype it made initially before it's release. The film has lot of violence elements and for that, it was given an 'A' Certificate.

Performance

The main attraction of the movie was Mammootty's performance ,stylish looks and dialogue delivery, He portrayed the Gangster very well. Nyla Usha was good in her role even though she didn't get much chance. Sekhar Menon, the villain couldn't live up to the standard of the protagonist.Rest of the cast were good in their roles.

Music

Music from Deepak Dev was good. Background music is another interesting element of the movie.

Technical Aspects

Cinematography was brilliant and lived up to international standards. The frames and angles were perfect , The Makeup man, Art director , costume designer receives appreciation as they made Gangster Stylish.

Direction And Screenplay

The script is the villain here. If the script was a better one, Gangster would have been brilliant. The script  by Ahmed Siddique and Abhilash Kumar was not up to the mark. Aashique Abu direction work was good but the lack of a good script made the direction weak.

Verdict:-Average Mass Entertainer..May Not Appeal to All..

Om Shanti Oshana is all about a love story which doesn't have any routine gimmicks. Debutant Jude Anthony Joseph's Om Shanti Oshana  is a love tale which revolves around a teen girl.

In many movies, we've seen the hero following the heroine to impress her. Here there is a difference. This time , it's girl who is choosing the man. Pooja Mathew ( Nazriya) is a naughty school girl. Her best friends include a flirt Neethu ( Akshaya ) & Dona. She is the daughter of Mathew Davis( Renji Panicker) & Annie. 

She goes to visit her aunt Rachel often. One day on a visit to Rachel Aunt, she learns the positives of  love marriage and goes to search an eligible man for her. She at firsts looks at a good looking guy at her school & later she finds another guy named Giri (Nivin Pauly) one day. Giri take part in farming & social activities even though he is a graduate. She is impressed with Giri's nature & she decides that Giri is her man.

She expresses her love to Giri on his birthday but Giri rejects it telling  that she is a small girl.He asks her to concentrate in her studies. Disappointed Pooja returns back.  Later she concentrates in her studies & after completion of school studies she get through the entrance examination. She gets admission in Calicut Medical College. She goes to Giri's house to tell him that she's going for her studies. She hears from his mother that he had already left to Shaolin Temple in China to learn Kung-fu. She again being disappointed , goes to her college. She gets into the company of the young & enthusiastic teacher Dr. Prasad Varkey (Vineeth Sreenivasan) . On her final year of studies , she again comes across Giri. Will Giri accept her love now..? This forms the rest of the plot.

Om Shanti Oshana is entertaining & engaging. It doesn't bore you & also it makes you laugh with some one-liners. Even though the film is said from the female side , it has some usual stuff in it & it is a bit predictable.

Performance

Nazriya gave a good performance as Pooja with some decent performance & good expression. Nivin Pauly as Giri was equally good. Aju Vargheese who played Pooja's cousin was good & successful in making you laugh.Rest of the cast including Vineeth Sreenivasan , Lal Jose, Renji Panicker have done justice to their roles.

Music

Music by Shaan Rahman was interesting are placed in suitable positions. Background score of the film dwells with its mood & it's energizing too.

Technical Aspects

Cinematography by Vinod Illampally was also good even though it wasn't the best.

Direction & Screenplay

Director Jude Anthony Joseph  has tried to give out a film that is good & worth watching. Screenplay was co-written by Midhun Manuel Thomas.  The screen play was also good.

Verdict :- Om Shanti Oshana is a Watchable Average Entertainer that has some good jokes & performances.

Visuals can be deceiving but this is a special one.Here comes Mohanlal's christmas release. 'Drishyam ' in which Mohanlal & Director Jeethu Joseph teams up for the very first time. This is Mohanlal's fifth film in this year.
Nothing to say  'Drishyam' is an excellent movie from this combo...!

Georgekutty(Mohanlal) is a an orphan. Through his hard work he earns some properties. He runs a cable vision in Rajakkad in Idukki known as Rani Vision. He lives happily with his wife Rani(Meena) & two children Anu & Anju. George kutty is an ardent movie fan & he tries to solve his problems in a cinematic way. Things are fine till a brat Varun (Roshan) enters their life & spoils it. The rest of the film is engaging thrilling & emotional.Drishyam is surely a film that revolves around a family but it's much more than that. But the director Jeethu Joseph has managed to surprise the viewer with a completely different approach.It is a film without any artificiality & it engages the viewer with steady story telling.

The story doesn't offer anything new but the style in which it is made is surely awesome.

The film has an average first half which contains lot of family sequences for family audience. The second half was really thrilling & emotional. Lal Magic works out again in Kerala.
The first half of the film is like what we expect. But the second half is really excellent. What makes the film thrilling is its strong script & direction.

Perfect for all types of audience. A clean film. Must be a hit.

Performance
Mohanlal is the main attraction of the film. He acting was excellent as Georgekutty especially in some emotional moments.  Meena made a good come back. The child artists did their roles very beautifully. Kalabhavan Shajon's Sahadevan , the police constable was another notable character.  All other cast including Siddique ,Asha Sharath , Roshan etc do their roles perfectly.

Technical Aspects

Sujith Vasudev's camera has captured the beauty of the place. The visuals are too good. Ayoob Khan's editing is also good.

Music

There are two songs in this film. Both are good. Anil Johnson's music is good & also he deserves a special mention for the BGM of the film. 'Marivil ....' song in Drishyam has already become a hit.

Script & Direction

Jeethu Joseph once again establishes himself as a good director. His direction was superb. The script doesn't have much loopholes & it is very much entertaining. The strong script is the backbone of this film.

Verdict:- Drishyam is an entertainer which has elements of thrills, emotions & fun. Go watch it ....

Drishyam Malayalam Movie is all set to release on 19/12/2013 as Mohanlal's Christmas release. Drishyam is directed by Jeethu Jospeh after Memories. Mohanlal & Jeethu Joseph teams up for the first time in this family entertainer.This film has Mohanlal & Meena in lead roles. This film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas. This will be Mohanlal's 5th release in 2013. His last film was Priyadarshan's Geethanjali.  Mohanlal will appear as a common farmer George Kutty in this film who is only educated up to 4th standard. His previous role as a Farmer was in Roshan Andrew's 'Ividam Swargamanu'. The sound track & background score is composed by Anil Johnson. Cinematography is done by Sujith Vasudev. Other characters are Siddique , Shajon , Asha Sharath ....Meena will be pairing with Mohanlal for the 7th time.

George Kutty is an orphan. With his hard work he managed to by 5 acres of rubber plantation. They have two daughters Anju & Anu. Some unexpected incidents happen in their life.This forms the rest of the plot.
