After the classic hit Drishyam, Mohanlal comes up with his new venture Mr Fraud which is a mass heist movie. Mohanlal has earlier teamed up with director B Unnikrishnan for Madampi and Grandmaster which were super hits.
Mohanlal plays a fraud in the film with different names, a non sympathetic hi-tech cunning robber. He is given a new mission which helps him gain a huge amount so that he can end up with all these games. The mission is too risky and challenging as the character says. A treasure belongs to an old kovilakam known as Adityapuram Kovilakam.The family members are too much bothered about the distribution of wealth except Rajasekhara Varma(Siddique) and Saraswathy(Mia). An Ex MLA and a staunch communist Varma wants the entire wealth to be handed over to the government. Will Mr Fraud be successful in completing the mission forms the rest of the plot.
The film is a mass heist thriller and there is no point of asking for a different story line. The first half of the film is racy and entertaining. The second half , though not much interesting is also average. Overall Mr Fraud is a mass heist thriller. A must watch for fans and good for one time watch for others.
Performance
Mohanlal was simply free flowing and outstanding even making minutest expressions and dialogues clap worthy. His new look in grey hair and beard was good and he was in full control giving a decent performance. Siddique is decent in a pivotal role. Dev Gill as the antagonist is shrill. All others gave a decent performance.
Music
Gopi Sundar's BGM is interesting and the songs are equally good.
Technical Aspects
Satheesh Kurup's camera work is good and visuals are interesting. Editing was sharp. VFX team has done a good job. Art work and action choreography are average.
Direction And Screenplay
B Unnikrishnan's script was simply average but it engaged the viewers through out. The script has few loop holes here and there. Direction part was good. The dialogues were interesting.
Verdict:- Good for one time watch .. Must watch for Fans..Go With Less Expectations
