The third film of the series, Ramji Rao Speaking and Mannar Mathai Speaking, has hit the theaters today and in one word the film is a "pure entertainer". Directed by Mamas, this film has almost the same cast. The director has tried to portray all those characters that have captured our minds years back. The film is basically a funny movie but does not have that punch the others movies of the series has.
The central characters of the film remains the same, Mannar Mathai (Innocent), Gopalakrishnan (Mukesh) and Balakrishnan (Sai kumar). This time the trio are running "Urvasi Tours & Travels" as they have had enough with the drama troupe. But Mathai's intense passion towards drama takes him to a decision to do a drama on the 25th anniversary of their troupe. Even though Gopalakrishnan and Balakrishnan does not favour this, at last they accept.
One fine morning, they decides to give a newspaper ad asking for a driver who is fluent in English and for a female lead in their drama. Soon they meet the driver Unni (Basil) and actress Nithya (Aparna Gopinath). All things remain fine till they meet their old rivalry Mahendra Varma (Biju Menon), whom they thought was dead. The rest of the trio's life along with a lot of laughter and entry of different characters completes the story line.
PERFORMANCES
Innocent and Mukesh have tried their level best to recreate the characters those had been stuck in to the audiences' mind. They have succeeded in that too. But Sai Kumar's performance was not that pleasing. Aparna Gopinath's performance too was not very impressive. Biju Menon was truly awesome in his role. All others like Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Janardhanan, Vijayaraghavan did a handy job.
MUSIC
The film's music has been composed by Rahul Raj and he has done a good job. BGMs were really impressive, but songs stay average.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS
Mamas has done the direction in a decent way. He has recreated those characters pretty well without any major defects. Cinematography by Vishnu Narayan is also a good one.
VERDICT
This film is for those who enjoy laughing, and does not want to carry anything from the film. Truly, an entertainer.
